On October the 1st, we will be visiting Jumilla. An early departure from the Mazarrón area, we will first visit a very beautiful winery in the countryside near Jumilla. They will show us the winery, the vineyards, which at this time of year are in their full production – we will be able to observe the whole process, from the grapes still on the vines, to the tasting of the finished product.
After the visit, we return to Jumilla for a leisurely walk around the town, perhaps a quick look at the Archieological Museum or the main Church of the town, then free time for lunch. (Not included)
Then if the weather permits, we will visit a Franciscan Monastery situated in the hills overlooking the town of Jumilla.

Every year in September, in Cartagena, the explosion of imagination and history come together with the Cartaginean and Roman Festival. 10 days of fun and fiesta combine with Cartagena’s history, to make a memorable date.
Dragontours will take you to witness the Great Battle between the Carthagenian and Roman forces. This year, it happens on September 24th, Friday. The tour begins in Mazarrón and we will take our seats close to the battle, and watch this amazing show. After the battle is over, we take a leisurely walk through the old streets of Cartagena, look at the ruins of the Roman theatre near the port of Cartagena, and imagine the past. We will then take the coach to the “Festival Camp” where there will be time to enjoy the festival camp, perhaps have a drink next to a Roman legionaire, or venture into the lair of one of the fierce mercenary troops. All good fun.
Trip including a seat for the Battle: only 24€ per person
On the programme for the summer, every Wednesday there will be a trip (minimum numbers apply), to Benidorm, departing from the Mazarrón area. Departure at 9:30 am. The departure from Benidorm will be at 19:00.
There are many options, you might just want to go to the market in the morning, have a leisurely lunch or snack, or spend a while on the beach. If you have children visiting, you might get optional tickets to the water park, or to the Theme Park Terra Mítica.

On June 17th, Dragontours will go to Tabarca Island, a very small island off the coast of Alicante. Our tour starts with a coach from the Mazarrón area, with several pick-up points, to the boat which will carry us to the island. There you can spend a day on the beach (there are lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent), or snorkling – the island is a world heritage underwater site. There are also numerous bars and restaurants on the island. In the afternoon, we return to our coach by boat, then back to the point of departure. The first Sunday of every month, the city of Bullas, one of the major wine-producing areas of the province of Murcia, celebrates an artisans’ market.
Each of the 12 market days centers on a specific theme, Dragontours will be going there on August the first, where you can see many Ceramists working, explaining their craft, and of course selling. As a treat, after the market visit, we will visit the Wine Museum, and have the opportunity to taste some of the local wines, as well as purchasing it and other products such as goat cheese.
We have other trips to Bullas on the agenda, on September the 5th, we will learn all about Spinning and Weaving, on November the 7th, how to milk goats and make goat cheese. And always, the visit to the Wine Museum.
