GRANADA
The Sierra Nevada Ski Station is a Ski resort in the Sierra Nevada (Spain) mountains in the province Province of Granada in southeastern Spain.
The ski area is on the northern slopes of Veleta (Sierra Nevada), the third highest peak in Spain.
This is the most southerly ski resort of Europe. Sierra Nevada is Europe’s southernmost Ski station and the highest in Spain. With its high Elevation, the skiing season can last from late November until early May.
Particularly towards the end of the season you can enjoy long, sunny days of skiing, although wind can be a problem due to Veleta’s Topographic prominence and few trees.
The resort is situated 27 km (17 mi.) from the city of Granada, and is accessed by the A-395. It is also less than 100 km from Motril, on the Costa Tropical, which means skiing and swimming on the same day is an option.
Nearest bigger city is Malaga (a population of nearly 600,000 people), is accessed by the Autovía A-7 European route E15 (Malaga-Motril), Autovía A-44 European route E902 (Motril-Granada) and then route Granada-Sierra Nevada Ski Station.

I T I N E R A RY

FIRST DAY COSTA BLANCA – GRANADA
Early morning departure towards Granada, stops on route. Arrival et the hotel, dinner and accomodation.

DAYS IN BETWEEN GRANADA
Half board in the hotel and daily climb to the ski slopes if the weather allows it.

LAST DAY GRANADA – COSTA BLANCA
Breakfast , free time and departure direction Costa Blanca. Stops on route, arrival and end of our services.

Day 1 Costa Blanca-Granada Departure in the morning towards Granada, passing en route Lorca and Guadix. Arrival at the hotel. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 2 Granada Breakfast and visit to the “Alhambra”(*) with the Nazaries Palace, Salon del Trono, Patio of the Lions and the Generalife Gardens. In the afternoon free time to visit the city with its Cathedral, Royal Chapel and Jewish quarter. Dinner and optional visit to a typical Flamenco-Show.

Day 3 Granada-Sierra Nevada-Granada Breakfast and excursion to the natural park “Sierra Nevada” (weather permitting). En route nice views to the valley. Arrival and free time to visit the ski resort. Return to Granada, free time, dinner and accommodation.

Day 4 Granada-Costa Blanca Breakfast and optional excursion by minibus to the Sacramonte with its caves and the Albaicin (old arab quarter) with beautiful views of the “Alhambra” . In the early afternoon return to the Costa Blanca and end of our services.

VALENCIA FALLAS FESTIVAL

VALENCIA FALLAS – FULL DAY TRIP – MARCH 18TH 2013

On Monday March 18th, we will go to Valencia – very early departure in order to enjoy a full day admiring the many painted statues throughout the city, and at 2 pm, the “mascletá”, an amazing fireworks display in the centre of town.

Cartagena – Great Festival of Carthage and Rome!

Friday September 27th 2013 – Dragontours is having a day-trip into Cartagena from the Mazarrón area, to witness the great battle between the forces of Rome and Carthage. We will have reserved seats, then participate until late in the festivities. Just 24€ for your reserved seat, and a coach trip there and back, all accompanied by your “Roman” guide.

Dragontours can reserve your seats at this absolutely stunning and unique parade, and then they will be brought to Camposol for you to pick up a few days before the parade starts. The dates for the “Biblical-Passional” Processions in Lorca are Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, this year 2013 falling on March 28th and 29th. AGUILAS: KARNEVAL – PARADE 2012

Am 10. Februar 2013 wird Dragontours mit einem Bus zur Karneval – Parade in Aguilas fahren, der ersten von vielen Paraden, jedoch ist dieser erste Sonntag wahrhaftig spektakulär. Die so genannten „peñas“ - Freundesgruppen - zeigen dann zum ersten Mal ihre neuen Kostüme und sind voller Energie und in Feierstimmung.
Der Ausflug beinhaltet die Busfahrt vom Hafen von Mazarrón bzw. von Camposol nach Aguilas, um das dortige Karneval-Fest zu sehen sowie einen reservierten Sitzplatz bei der Parade.

Jumilla Wine Tour

On April 18th 2013, Dragontours is planning a trip to the wineries in Jumilla. After our early – 9 am – departure, we cross the province of Murcia into the north west, and arrive in Jumilla. The vinyards are becoming green and lush, and we will visit two different wineries with different outlooks. Going back to the city of Jumilla, and if there is time, we can have a look at the Archaeological Museum or take a stroll through the streets of this lovely town. We will also fit in a visit to a very interesting ecological farm, where among other activities, excellent olive oil is made.

Then there will be free time for lunch (not included) for everybody at one of the many bars or restaurants in town.

After lunch, and on our way back, we will have a visit to, providing the weather is fine, the Franciscan monastery overlooking the city. Our return to Mazarrón will be at approximately 6:30 – 7 pm. Price is just 32€ per person.

CARAVACA WINE HORSE FESTIVAL ” LOS CABALLOS DEL VINO” – MAY 2ND 2013

Just as on every year, this year we will go to Caravaca de la Cruz, to enjoy their annual Wine Horse festival. Not only is Caravaca a holy city, where according to legend a piece of the “True Cross” is guarded in the Church, the city also has one of the most popular and beautiful festivals. Horses are dressed in embroidered finery, paraded through the town, and finally, compete against one another in a race to the castle.

Tabarca Island

On June 6th, Dragontours will go to Tabarca Island, a very small island off the coast of Alicante. Our tour starts with a coach from the Mazarrón area, with several pick-up points, to the boat which will carry us to the island. There you can spend a day on the beach (there are lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent), or snorkling – the island is a world heritage underwater site. There are also numerous bars and restaurants on the island. In the afternoon, we return to our coach by boat, then back to the point of departure. Coach trip including the return boat trip.

El 6 de Junio, Dragontours hace un viaje hasta la Isla de Tabarca, una isla diminuta cerca de Alicante. Nuestro viaje comienza en la zona de Mazarrón, hay varios puntos de salida, y nos lleva hasta el barco que nos lleva hasta la isla. Allí se puede tumbar en la playa (alquilan tumbonas y sombrillas), hacer “snorkle”, ya que la isla es zona protegida de la UNESCO. También hay una gran variedad de bares y restaurantes.

Por la tarde, volvemos en el barco, y luego el autocar, hasta el punto de partida. El viaje incluye transporte en autocar y en barco ida y vuelta.

Sólo 32€ por persona (Descuento de niños, a consultar).
